Act 5, scene 1 In this scene we see that Lady Macbeth isn't doing well. Her gentlewoman states that Lady Macbeth has been sleep walking since Macbeth has gone to prepare for the war. Here we start to see Lady Macbeth in a different light. I once saw her character as strong and independent but now I see that she needs her husband to help cope with all the guilt she has inside. Lady Macbeth began sleepwalking and she walked into a room where her gentlewoman and her doctor where. She began saying all of the things she and her husband have done, by her doing this I can foreshadow that possibly her and Macbeth will have to confess to everything they have done.

Act 4, scene 3 Here, Macduff arrives in England to speak to Malcom to seek help. Malcom wasn't sure if he could trust Macduff, this cause Macduff to put his pride aside by saying that he may not be qualified to be the best king but he would anything to help Scotland at this point. This convinced Malcom to send 10,000 soldiers to Macbeth's castle . At the end of the scene Malcolm and Macduff have a small argument of what it means to be a man. This showed me how little Malcolm has lived and how strong and secure Macduff is.

Act 4, scene 2 In this next scene we see that Macduff did go to England to seek help. However Macduff did not explain to his wife or son why he was leaving. This leads Lady Macduff to believe that her husband wasn't coming back. Lady Macduff then tries to explain to her son that his father was not coming back but the boy knew he was. This makes me believe that Macduff is a good man for teaching his son well. Macbeth sent murderers to kill them both in their home while they were on the look for Macduff, this shows us that now Macbeth willing to anyone to protect himself.

Act 4, Scene 1 In this new act we see the witches once again. This time they are planning to preform a spell on Macbeth. This time they wanted to scare him by showing him images of the things that are coming his way. The witches showed him disturbing apparitions, which shows the reader how much more powerful they are with their leader. Macbeth was so desperate to see his future that it made me understand that he would do just about anything for it. We come to see that Macbeth's future is filled with despair which made me feel like he will finally get what he deserves soon.

Act 3, Scene 6 During this scene we learn that Lennox and a lord both believe that Macbeth is responsible for Duncan and Banquo's death. We also learn that Macduff plans on going to England to seek help so that Scotland can be free from Macbeth's rule. This is a key to the story because we are beginning to see that people no longer believe Macbeth's lies and that they are willing to seek help from other places to escape him.

Act 3, Scene 5 In scene 5 we are introduced to the leader of the witches, Hecate. We discover that Hecate was disappointed in the other witches because they didn't ask Hecate if they could use their powers on Macbeth. For Hecate I feel like she is upset because if the witches hadn't have told Macbeth about his future then he wouldn't have killed Duncan. Hecate said Macbeth was a "hateful man" which is important because in the story, not only are humans noticing that Macbeth is an awful person, but witches are too.

Act 3, scene 4 In scene 4, during their feast, Macbeth is notified from one of the men that Banquo is dead but his son has escaped. I think the idea that his oldest friend has died and the fact that the only person that could steal his throne is still alive made him feel insane. I think this is what made Macbeth act out and feel like he was talking to Banquo's ghost.

Act 3, scene 3 In this scene the murderers approach Banquo and his son, Fleance. The men successfully kill Banquo but they let Fleance escape. This scene is important because the witches didn't say that Banquo himself was to be king but that Banquo was to be the father of the future king. This made me realize  that Macbeth's greatest fear was still not taken care of which could lead to tension in the future.

Act 3, scene 2 In this scene, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth confess to each other that they are both losing sleep and they have stopped eating because they are afraid. This was important because throughout the whole story we haven't seen Lady Macbeth afraid or guilty. Macbeth told Lady Macbeth that he had a plan that would reassure them that the throne was theirs, but he didn't tell her the full plan. I found this scene extremely ironic because at the beginning Lady Macbeth was the stronger one in charge, but now Macbeth is taking control.

Act 3, scene 1- Now that Macbeth is king, he is starting to remember that the witches also told his friend, Banquo that his descendants would also be royalty. I feel like this makes Macbeth panic and made him think that Banquo would take away the throne. From the way Macbeth is beginning to speak, you can indicate that he is feeling more powerful. Because Macbeth is paranoid, he begins to use his power as king to convince 2 men to kill Banquo, his son, and his father.

Act 2, scene 4- In this scene Shakespeare starts of having characters speak of strange and gruesome actions going on between the animals, which in a way feels like a metaphor for Macbeth taking over the throne. When the king died, it cause his sons to flea Scotland, which I can infer is because they were scared of being killed next. Macbeth being crowned made me suspect that a lot of tension was going to rise between Macbeth and Macduff, because Macduff did not want to attend the coronation.

Act 2, scene 3- In this scene we are taken place into the morning after the king was killed. Somehow there was more humor at the beginning, which was unexpected. The characters joked with each other and that is something the audience hadn't seen yet. We also got to see how Lady Macbeth and Macbeth would react to the king be found dead. This resulted in Lady Macbeth fainting and Macbeth acting as if he were angry enough to kill the guards.

Act 2, scene 2- This scene shows how Lady Macbeth and Macbeth react to killing the king. Lady Macbeth was angry at Macbeth because she thought he might have woken the guards up. Macbeth on the other hand felt so guilty and he wished he could knock on the door and Duncan would wake up, this helps the reader understand that he felt awful. The way Lady Macbeth reacted showed that she was not sorry for what they had done and she was more concerned about getting away other than the fact that she helped kill someone.

Act 2, scene 1- In the beginning of act 2, Banquo tells Macbeth that the king was very happy with how the evening went. Banquo goes on to tell Macbeth that he keeps having bad dreams about the witches, Macbeth of course doesn't want to hear about it so he dismisses Banquo. Macbeth began to hallucinate about killing, and he imagines a dagger in his hand, which lead to Macbeth to actually killing the king in his sleep. By Macbeth hallucinating, the reader and make an inference that the slightest thought of killing Duncan made him go crazy. This scene also gives off a bit of irony when Banquo tells Macbeth that the king when to bed happy, even though he had no idea Macbeth was plotting to kill him the whole time.

Act 1, scene 7- In this scene Macbeth begins to ask himself if he is really willing to kill Duncan and he tries to tell himself that his ambition is not a reliable guide. At this point we can tell that Macbeth is hesitant and that he doesn't really want to kill the king. Macbeth then tries to explain to his wife that he doesn't want to kill the king anymore. Lady Macbeth is furious at him and she decides to insult him by telling him he's not a real man. She goes on to try to convince Macbeth that if he follows her plan then they will be okay. This shows the audience that Lady Macbeth is an extremely cruel and manipulative character, and it shows that she is the one thats really in charge of the plan.

Act 1, Scene 6- In this scene Duncan arrives at Macbeth's castle. Duncan makes himself an honorable and polite guest by complementing and thanking Macbeth and his wife. Lady Macbeth sets a more ominous tone by saying it was her duty for all the things king has done for them. At this point in the story a reader might feel anxious to see what will happen next.

In Act 1, Scenes 4 and 5 Macbeth finally meets with King Duncan. Macbeth is praised for his greatness in battle and his loyalty to the king. This shows again how much trust King Duncan puts into people, especially Macbeth. This kinda foreshadows that Macbeth will take advantage of this trust for his own personal gain and power. We finally meet Lady Macbeth in scene 5 who is an interesting character. She does not have much trust in Macbeth and does not think he has what it takes to be king which is very true in my opinion. Macbeth cant make tough decisions and just is not king material. We also learn that Lady Macbeth is smarter and uses her brain more than her husband as she has already started planning Duncan's murder.

In Act 1, Scene 3 we finally meet Macbeth with his close friend Banquo. This scene is awesome because they meet the witches who set the plot for the whole story. the Witches tell Macbeth that one day he will be king which is huge because this kinda starts Macbeth on his road of darkness and death to become king. Banquo learns that one of his children will be king one day which totally messes up Macbeth and Banquo's friendship due to Macbeth's greed and wanting the throne all to himself. I like this scene a lot because Macbeth and Banquo are left with so many questions and no one to answer them. Its like someone telling they can tell you your whole future but then just saying one thing and then running away.

We have just met King Duncan who is the current ruler of Scotland. King Duncan is like a father figure who is kind and generous but is also strong and firm. He has 3 sons, Malcolm, Donalbain, and Lennox. Duncan seems to be a man who is smart and has quick wits and thus deserves to be king. He can make the big decision's as king and does things the right way be wanting to take prisoners and putting them trial which is the opposite of what Macbeth does but, he so also trusting which makes it easy for Macbeth to take advantage of him. It is obvious that him and Macbeth have very different views on things and I can already tell that Macbeth will kill him at some point in order to become king. King Duncan is like that one friends dad who is really nice and generous to you but you can deceive him easily because he is so trusting of people.

When we first meet Macbeth it is in battle. He has just fought in battle and killed Macdonwald, a traitor to the king by cutting him in half through the center of his body and cut of his head to bring back as a trophy. This scene shows how brutal and unprofessional Macbeth really is. His way of judgement his death by his sword instead of taking prisoners and having them going on trial to be hung which is the "king" way to do things. This shows that Macbeth could never be a great king because violence is his first resort to problems. This like that one friend who is really buff and strong and his first reaction to something is 'fight me", but not very smart so you know he cant make the big decisions.

The three witches are spooky but interesting characters as they use black magic and talk in riddle. They share a resemblance to the three "Fates" in Greek mythology which is a very cool thing about them. The witches are prophecy tellers in a way as they know the future and tell Macbeth one day he will be king. The witches are kinda like that group of weird girls in school who stick to themselves but when they do talk they say some brazy stuff.

Blood is everywhere in macbeth. the play starts with blood during the battle and then just keeps coming after that. Once Lady Macbeth and Macbeth go on their killing spree blood continues to stain them. Blood becomes a symbol of guilt to them both as it is seen as their crime cannot be washed away. this is like if you killed a person and then could never stop thinking about it because it scarred you for life.

Lady Macbeth is a very interesting character. She is ruthless and talks mad mess to her husband by calling him weak and lil weenie. She has already plotted Duncan's murder and is much more cunning than Macbeth. She wants to be a man and Macbeth even says she is a guy living in a woman's body.

A main theme in this book is corruption by power. Macbeth becomes corrupted by power when he learns that one day he will be king causing him to have Banquo killed so that way his children wont become king. He also goes mad and starts seeing Banquos ghost and talks to him when no one else can see him.
