Act 1, scene 7-
In this scene Macbeth begins to ask himself if he is really willing to kill Duncan and he tries to tell himself that his ambition is not a reliable guide. At this point we can tell that Macbeth is hesitant and that he doesn't really want to kill the king. Macbeth then tries to explain to his wife that he doesn't want to kill the king anymore. Lady Macbeth is furious at him and she decides to insult him by telling him he's not a real man. She goes on to try to convince Macbeth that if he follows her plan then they will be okay. This shows the audience that Lady Macbeth is an extremely cruel and manipulative character, and it shows that she is the one thats really in charge of the plan.
